George Caleb Bingham
George Caleb Bingham was born on March 20, 1811, in Virginia. His family moved to the Missouri Territory in 1819 and he grew up in what is now Cooper County. A class artist of the American West, his work is regarded as some of the nation's greatest art treasures.
