What do the Lorax, Arnold Palmer, and Rapunzel all have in common? They have all been replicated out of the popular marshmallow confection known as Peeps for Main Street Chillicothe's first annual Downtown Peep Show. These and many other creations are now on display throughout downtown storefronts in anticipation of the upcoming Downtown Peep Show on Saturday.
The rules were simple. The public was invited to come up with a fabulous idea or theme and then create an amazing artwork using Peeps as the primary artistic medium. And create they did. Some entries are nearly 3 feet tall while others have the tiniest of details including Peep size playing cards. "Entries have originated from individuals, families and area businesses and the originality has been phenomenal," stated Brandy Sensenich, event chair for Main Street Chillicothe.
"Now is your chance to get out and about downtown to view all the entries in downtown storefronts this week," said Crystal Narr, Main Street director. "Then on March 30 th, invite all your friends and family to the actual Downtown Peep Show where they can vote on their favorite candy creations."
The Peep Show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Second Floor Historic Courtroom in the Livingston County Library and will include games, activities and concessions.
"This event is a great family friendly activity for all ages," said Sensenich, "We hope everyone will come out to witness our community's creativity firsthand and support this event while having some fun."
This inaugural community event was made possible by the generous sponsorship of The Yogurt Stop, Dr. Lebsack & Sensenich Jeweler.
