About 20 people participated in the Nature Walk Saturday, March 23, at the River Road Trail in Riverview Park.
Kyle Monroe, resource forester with the Missouri Department of Conservation, explained how the trees could be identified, what the leaves look like in fall and what wildlife they support.
The 103-year-old park with 465 acres of forested land is on the National Register for Historic Places.
