  • The Livingston County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of livestock from the south east part of Livingston County. Two different locations have been the target of cattle and/or calf theft since mid-February.
The first location was reported in February on Liv 312 where a total of three calves (two being January calves) and two cows, all black Angus breed with one cow having horns and being pregnant were stolen.
The second location was reported March 23 from a location on Liv 308 where twice someone has stolen two black cows each time from that property.
"We are currently working with the Missouri Rural Crimes Task Force with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other agencies on these investigations," said Sheriff Steve Cox.
"If you have cattle we urge you to take additional precautions in protecting your property and livestock," the sheriff stated. "Cattle thieves prefer remote locations and generally use corrals or pens the livestock owner has on site to load the animals. The theft of any livestock is a serious felony offense in Missouri."
Anyone with information about these crimes asked the contact the sheriff's office at 660-646-0515.
