Norma Lee Hammond, 88, of Meadville, Mo., died Monday, April 1, 2013 at her home.
She was born Jan. 19, 1925 in Bogard, Mo., the daughter of Arthur and Cora (Dorsey) Huber. On April 14, 1949, she was married to Lawrence Hammond.
Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptish Church in Meadville, Mo.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of the home; three children, Gene Hammond and wife Threse, South Pasadena, Fla., Karen Muck and husband Jim, and Rick Hammond and wife Naomi, all of Meadville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Stacy Asher and husband Mark, Little Rock, Ark., Ticia Sanderson and husband Eric, Parker, Colo., Jim Muck and wife Lori, Altoona, Iowa, Shana French and husband Doug, Chillicothe, Mo., Kimberly Davis and husband John, Shawnee, Kan., and Rick Evan Hammond and wife Sarah, Meadville, Mo.; 18 great-grandchildren, Jordan and Christian Dobbins, Evan and Melanie Sanderson, Noah, Isaac, Samuel and Anna Asher, Gracie and Jimmy Muck, Kealee and Eden French, Lydia, Brody and Tyson Davis, Taylor Roberts, and Parker and Peyton Hammond; and 15 foster children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fay Huber.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville, Mo., with Pastor Keith Sisney and Pastor Alan Brock officiating. Burial will be in Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Mo. Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
