Livingston County saw just a 13 percent voter turnout in Tuesday’s election. Unofficial results show that 1,216 of the county’s 9,397 registered voters cast ballots.
The greatest percentage of registered voters casting ballots was found at the Jenkins Community Center, where voters from Blue Mound and Monroe townships were casting ballots. Just over 26 percent of the 546 registered voters cast ballots. A contested school board election for the Livingston R-1 District may have been a big draw at the polls, as three candidates had filed for two open positions.
Chillicothe’s 3rd Ward had the lowest percentage of voter turnout in Tuesday’s election. Just 80 voters (or 6 percent) of the ward’s 1,331 voters cast ballots.
