Livingston County Clerk Sherry Parks has announced the results of the write-in candidates from Tuesday’s election. The votes were counted Wednesday afternoon by the county’s verification board — comprised of one Republican and one Democrat. Several entities within Livingston County had openings for boards but had either no candidates or not enough candidates to fill all the open positions. When this occurs, voters may write in candidates for the positions, and the person with the most votes is elected. Such circumstance occurred in the city of Chula, the town of Ludlow, the village of Utica, and Mooresville Township Fire Protection District. There were two positions within the city of Chillicothe that had no candidates file. They were for the offices of attorney and treasurer which, by ordinance, pay $1 a year. For the attorney’s position, Adam Warren received the most votes (9), followed by Douglas Roberts (6), Robert Cowherd (4), Dana Macoubrie (3), Sheri Nelson (3), and Brent Turner (2). Individuals receiving one vote each for attorney were Susan Davis, Mark Woodworth, Christie Grouse, Mike Leamer, Donald Chapman, Kyle Wedlock, Judge Judy, Mike Koenig, Ashley Myers and Tim Bosler. For the treasurer’s position, Sherry Parks received the most votes (3), followed by Craig Myers (2). Individuals receiving single votes were Deanna Kepner, Jacob Hibner, Daniel Forck, Rosalee Suchland, Chuck Haney, Theresa Kelly, Jeff Foli, Daniel Williams, Ean Leppin, Mary Seidel, Gordon Smith and John Cook. In the city of Chula, Jamie Rhodes received two votes for south ward alderman. Steve Regan and Ed LaBaw each received one vote. For the Ludlow Town Board, voters were to elect two individuals for board member posts. Alan Miles was the lone declared candidate and received 19 votes. Write-ins were Shawn Hughes, who received two votes, and Reuben Venneman, Shannon Hein and Whitney Miles, who each received one vote. In the village of Utica, voters were to elect three individuals to the board of trustees. Declared candidates Jason Moore received 14 votes and Jeff McCoy received 12 votes. Write-ins were Jamie Christopher (5), Keith Wheeler (3), Helen Harkins (2), Royce Bryant (2), Dusty Donoho (2), Frank Schottel (2), and Jana Shira (2). Jerry Smith, Doug Reith, Rick Barker, Barbara Hightower, Randy Dennis, Dale Jones, Jim Clemens and Richard Evans each received one vote. Mooresville Township Fire Protection District had no candidates file for the two open board seats. Write-in candidates for the six-year term were: Steve Thomas (19), Robert Coots (9), Shelley Roberts (6), Orland Oesch (3), and Butch Thomas (3). Individuals receiving one vote apiece were: Todd Roberts, Mitchell Anderson, Todd Allred, Larry Wohlgemuth, Nathan Peel and Kent Bryan. Write-in candidates for the four-year term on the Mooresville Township Fire Protection District board were: Shelley Roberts (18), Gayle Dawkins (7), Steve Thomas (6), Orvaletta Rockhold (2), and Bob Coots (2). Individuals receiving one vote apiece were: Jay Callen, Mitchell Anderson, Todd Roberts, Larry Wohlgemuth, Seth Roberts, Lonnie Sewell, Joe Carter, George Roberts III, Butch Thomas and Rob Roberts.
