Several local residents took advantage of the Livingston County Health Center’s walk-in Tdap vaccination clinic during Public Health Week. The shot protects against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, or whooping cough. Pertussis has been making a comeback in recent years as immunity wanes in adults. Most often, adults spread the disease to infants, who have not developed immunity. Tdap vaccinations will be available at immunization clinics, or on a walk-in basis during the health center’s Tuesday office visit day.
