  • Friends of the Library annual book sale starts this week

  • The Friends of the Livingston County Library will have their annual book sale in the Courtroom on the second floor of the Livingston County Library from Saturday, April 13, through Saturday, April 20.

  • The Friends of the Livingston County Library will have their annual book sale in the Courtroom on the second floor of the Livingston County Library from Saturday, April 13, through Saturday, April 20.
    Friends members are invited to a “Members Only” preview sale, Thursday, April 11 from 5 until 7 p.m. and Friday, April 12, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
    Those who are not a member of the Friends and would like to shop the Preview Sale may purchase a membership at the sale.
    Included in the sale will be children’s books, teen books and adult books. There will also be magazines and some videos and DVDs. Items start as low at 25¢ and most items are under $3.
    A selection of “Better Books” will also be available. These books have very little wear and will be priced slightly higher than the regular items.
    The sale will run during regular library hours, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
    The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support programs and activities of the Livingston County Library. In addition to bringing programs to Chillicothe, the Friends also support the Library by providing funding for Overdrive, a downloadable book and audiobook program available through the Library and Mango Languages, an online language learning program.
    The Friends also support the Summer Reading Program and Teen Read Week activities. One Read Livingston County was also a project spearheaded by the Friends.
