Prom, for some students, is one of the most memorable nights of a high school student's career. It can also be one of the most deadly. Over 60 percent of teenage deaths on prom night are alcohol related.
"It is our hope that this CHS and C-2000 sponsored event will prevent any lose of life to our precious youth," said Angela Peterson, Project Prom sponsor.
The preparations for the Chillicothe Project Prom are in full swing this week at the high school. Thousands of dollars and many hours of preparation go into giving the CHS students a night where they can relax, unwind, and just have fun. Activities for the night include bowling, a huge blow up bungee run, pool, arcade, cards, and pizza. Doors open at Fast Lane at 11:30 p.m. and will run until 3 a.m.
"Chillicothe businesses and organizations have once again come through for our students with amazing donations of cash and prizes," said Peterson. "We would like to thank all who have already donated so generously."
Prizes to be given away are an iPad, $200 VISA card, dorm refrigerator, cash and other great gifts. Those wanting to donate to the event, may contact Angela Peterson at the high school.
