  • Harlene Frances Stanley, 83, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Indian Hills Nursing Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
    Harlene was born Jan. 2, 1930 in Marceline, Mo., to Jesse and Agnes Moore.
    Harlene lived in Marceline until age 34 when she moved to Chillicothe with her two sons. Throughout the years, she worked as a secretary for Churchill Trucklines, R.E.A. and Dean Machinery. She also worked at the University of Arkansas and the University of Missouri in Columbia. Following her retirement, Harlene returned to Chillicothe to live her remaining years.
    She is survived by a sister, Patty Eitel, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Arthur and Robert Stanley, both of Chillicothe, Mo.; two grandchildren, Randi Stanley, Chillicothe, Mo., and Audrea Jamison, also of Chillicothe, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Sagen Stanley, Addison Jamison and Kreed Stanley.
    Harlene was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Agnes Moore; a sister, Betty Peniston and her brother, Jesse “Bob” Moore.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, Mo., at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m.
    Donations may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Memorial Animal Shelter in Chillicothe, Mo.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, Mo.
