  • Celebration of Life services for Larry Sewell to be held Saturday

  • Larry Gene Sewell, 64, a resident of Hale, Mo., died Monday, April 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
    Larry was born Nov. 22, 1948 to Charles Eugene and Lelah Marie (Morris) Sewell in Chillicothe, Mo. On  Nov. 22, 1972, Larry married Dianna Lynn Hart at the Hale Methodist Church in Hale, Mo.  
    Larry graduated from Hale R 1 School in 1966.
    Larry was a farmer, mechanic, owner/operator of White Mule Tractor Pulling Sled and an owner/operator of a semi truck. He was President of Hale Tractor Pullers for 28 years, a member of the 2 Cylinder Club in Kansas City, Mo., the Missouri IH Club, and he Emceed the Hale Christmas Parade at Thanksgiving for 25 years.
    Larry is survived by his wife,  Dianna of the home; one brother, Lonnie Ray Sewell and wife Earlene, Mooresville, Mo.; one sister, Dennita Marie Sewell, Phoenix, Ariz.; aunts; uncle; eight nieces; four nephews; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Harold Hart, Hale, Mo.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Candy and Larry Hart, Hale, Mo., Helen and Steve Judy, Hale, Mo., Janet and Terry Boley, Linneus, Mo., Laura and Tony Livingston, Brookfield, Mo., Mary K. and Donny Richards, Hale, Mo.; and a host of friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lyle Devin Sewell and one niece Brooke Livingston in infancy.
    Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Hwy., Carrollton, Mo., from 12 until 1:50 p.m. A Celebration of  Life will follow at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Bruce Trussell officiating. Burial will be in Rock Branch Cemetery, Tina, Mo., at a later date.
    The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hale Tractor Pullers or Ronald McDonald House in memory of Larry. They may be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P.O.
