  • Deloris Goldie Davison, 86, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty Mo.
    Deloris was born April 20, 1927 in Commerce, Okla., the daughter of John Conway and Justine Searcy Conway. Due illness in the family, she was adopted as a baby by Louis and Edith Grube. Deloris married Paul M. Stefancik and he preceded her in death. On April 28, 1972 Deloris married Milton Charles Davison in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death in October 1992.
    She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo., and worked as a Certified Nurse Aide in nursing homes and hospitals in the Kansas City and Independence areas.
    Deloris enjoyed sewing, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their neighborhood friends. She also enjoyed the “Young and Restless.”
    She is survived by a son, John Paul Stefancik, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Mary Kay Smith and husband Terry, Chillicothe, Mo., Carol Elaine Banes and husband Dean, Independence, Mo., and Susan Marie Greenway, Chillicothe, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tassie Elkins, Logan Stefancik, Sondra Smith, Amy Jacobs, Travis Greenway and Terrance Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Campbell, Argentine, Kan.; a sister, Jewel Nickolson,f Argentine, Kan.; nieces and nephews.
    Delores was preceded in death by her natural and adoptive parents; husbands, Paul Stefancik and Milton Charles Davison; daughter, Paulette Jean Stefancik; sisters, Opal Campbell and Violet Campbell; and a great-grandson, Thompson Robert Stefancik.
    A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Mo., on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 1 p.m. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
    Memorials in honor of Deloris Davison may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com.
