The Chillicothe Street Department and the Canadian Pacific Railroad will be working together next week, starting Tuesday, June 25.
Third Street, from Turner Street to just west of the tracks will be closed to all traffic. Canadian Pacific Railroad will be repairing the crossing on the mainline track and the street department will be replacing asphalt with concrete on the street to improve the ride-ability and safety of this intersection in the coming years, according to Street Superintendent Barry Arthur.
Motorists are asked to avoid this area and use the many different side streets to get to they destination.
“We are striving to have this opened by July 1,” Arthur said, adding that weather could delay the improvement.
