House of Prayer Rescue Mission will be presenting its 3rd annual “God & Country” Gospel and Patriotic Music/Narration at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.
This year’s program will be held in Simpson Park, at the shelter house located on the west side of the Park, Country Club Drive entrance.
Vocalists Ben Savage, Daniel Savage, Mary Lou VanDeventer and House of Prayer Ensemble, “Voices of Praise” will be accompanied by Jamie Pauls, pianist/narrator, Wilmer Gingrich, mandolin and acoustic guitar and Jan VanDeventer, bass guitar.
The presentation lasts about an hour and includes the national anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the background narration to “many of the patriotic songs that those attending can’t help but join in singing,” said VanDeventer.
The Savages and VanDeventer will also share a few of their favorite country songs that are patriotic crowd-pleasers.
“Woven throughout the program is the fact that God is the foundation that our great United States of America was founded on and the reason she is still the greatest county in the world,” VanDeventer said.
The public is invited to attend and bring their lawn chairs.
In case of inclement weather or temperatures 90 degrees and higher, the program will be moved to House of Prayer, 144 Herriford Street.
