“Look 4 Treasures in the Garden” will the the theme on July 3 at Livingston County Library.
Storytime will be presented at 10 a.m. and the craft program for children eight through 12 years of age will be held at 10:30 a.m.
There are 211 readers who have registered for the Independent Reading Program and they reported reading 649 books during Week 4.
Each received a shell sticker for their folder and the pennies used to count books were donated in honor of Mrs. Riekena. There are still folders available for summer school students who have not yet had a chance to join. The Independent Readers have reported a total of 2,090 books read so far this summer.
The Storytime held on Wednesday, June 26, featured “Treasures in the Sand” and was attended by 54 children and 40 adults. Stories featured pirates and beach creatures. The craft was attended by 8 children and they made treasures in sand bottles.
Each child who attended the Wednesday programs received a red bandanna and a sand toy purchased for them with the Irene Higgins Memorial Fund. Also each child received a seashell donated by Jonalyn Nyberg.
