The Board of Directors of the Livingston County Library announced that Candy Warren has been hired as Children’s Librarian.
The Board of Directors of the Livingston County Library announced that Candy Warren has been hired as Children’s Librarian. Warren is taking over the position from Judith Shoot who retired July 31, after 33 years with the Livingston County Library.
“We are so pleased to welcome Candy to the Library,” stated Library Director Robin Westphal. “Her years of experience with young readers and her commitment to early childhood literacy will continue to build on our mission and goals.”
Warren has seven years’ experience in the classroom at both the first- and fifth-grade level and is, herself, an avid reader of children’s literature.
Warren graduated from the Tina-Avalon R-II school district and has lived in the area her entire life. She has a bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. She and her husband, Mark, also a lifelong resident of the area, have two children, Zoey, 6 and Alex, 1.
“I am so excited to be a part of the Livingston County Library family,” Warren said. “The library of my youth holds such a special spot in my heart. I became a reader there and went on many adventures between the pages of their books. I am honored to offer that same opportunity to our community’s youth.”
