A Chillicothe man, Blake R. Briner, 22, died Friday afternoon in a two-boat collision at the Lake of the Ozarks.
A Chillicothe man, Blake R. Briner, 22, died Friday afternoon in two-boat collision at the Lake of the Ozarks. The accident occurred at the 18.8 mile mark main channel of the Osage Arm around 4 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred as Briner, driving a 1995 Bombardier personal water craft was downstream. Brett M. Keith, 28, of Chillicothe, driving a 2001 Bombardier personal water craft, was following the Briner vessel, when Briner reportedly made a 180-degree turn. The front of the Keith vessel struck the front of the Briner vessel. Briner was pronounced dead at 4:35 at Lake Regional Hospital by Camden County Medical Examiner Dee Ballard. Keith was arrested at 4:51 p.m. Friday on a charge of boating while intoxicated. He was being held on a 24 hold at Camden County Jail.
