  • Motorists dropping off and picking up students at Central School may need to find an alternative route and expect delays because of construction work on Third Street, between Washington and Vine.
Chillicothe Street Superintendent Barry Arthur stated that the street will likely remain closed for three more weeks as the contractor, M&M Utilities, of Chillicothe, continues its work. Arthur stated that it was anticipated that the project would be completed by the time school began.
To help alleviate traffic congestion, the contractor and city made arrangements so that the intersection of Elm and Third streets would be completed and opened so that traffic may travel north and south on Elm Street. Motorists will also be able to travel north and south on Vine Street.
After completing Third Street, the contractor will begin work on Park Lane and Morningside Drive.
