Doyle J. Hays 68, of Chula, Mo., died at his home on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, under the care of his family and St Luke’s Hospice. Doyle was born Nov. 11, 1944, in Pollock, Mo., to Truman Jefferson Hays and Velma Beula Irene Hines. He was a life-long farmer in the area who enjoyed fishing, video games, riding four wheelers and driving stock cars at a local raceway. The most important thing in Doyle’s life was to spend time with his family and friends. On Nov. 20, 1966, he married Sharon Kay Hatfield, in Chillicothe, Mo., and to this union, three daughters were born, Claretta Lamp of Chillicothe, Penny Kromeich of Macon, Mo., and Kim Tuttle and fiancé Johnny Ragle of Hamilton, Mo. Other survivors include grandchildren, Michael, Keith and Timothy Yount, Trenton Ewing, Tatum Hays, Lacey and Cody Kromeich, Reece and Kennedy Tuttle and James and Lori Beth Hostetter; four great-grandchildren; companion, Mary Curry of the home; four brothers, Dennis Hays, Dalton Hays, David Hays, and Danny Hays and wife Debbie. five sisters, Karen Davis, Helen Whitmore, Theressa Clevenger (Gale), Pam Wilhelm (Marshall) and Donna Bean; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons-in-law, Jimmy Kromeich and Jesse Lamp; and nephew Adam Hays.
