Franklin Holloway, age 78, of Brookfield, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
A funeral service will be Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, with Pastor Sue Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

Franklin D., son of George “Bill” and Mary (Parry) Holloway, was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Brunswick. In 1957, he married Imogene Peavler who died in 1994 and later married Patsy Rader Surber on July 30, 1998.
He was retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service. While serving in the Air Force in Alaska, he managed a moving business and worked as a realtor. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Rothville and then became a member of the United Methodist Church in Linneus. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 197 in Laclede.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Holloway of the home; two brothers, Kenneth Holloway and wife, Marilyn of Brookfield and Glenn Holloway and wife, Janell of Laclede; his sister-in-law, Louise Holloway of Brookfield; four step-children, Rick Surber and wife, Robyn of Chillicothe, Brenda Muller and husband, Jim of Hamilton, Teresa Muck and husband, Larry of Meadville, and Cory Surber and wife, Stacy of Wheeling; and 12 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eldon Holloway and Delbert Holloway; and one sister Louise Clough.
