  • Joe C. Darr, a 34-year veteran with the Chillicothe Fire Department, died today (Wednesday) at a Kansas City area hospital. He was 62.

  • Joe C. Darr, a 34-year veteran with the Chillicothe Fire Department, died today (Wednesday) at a Kansas City area hospital. He was 62.
    Darr served as assistant fire chief and emergency medical technician. He served all of his years with the Chillicothe Fire Department and was also a member of the Region H Haz-Mat Response Team.
    “He was a dedicated and caring member of the community and will be greatly missed by his family, fire shift crew, fire service colleagues, and many others who he has positively impacted throughout his fire service career,” stated L. Corey Sloan, public affairs officer.
    Funeral services, with full fire service honors, are pending. The Missouri Fire Service Funeral Assistance Team is assisting the department with arrangements.
