Entrepreneurship classes at Grand River Technical School will be holding the 5th annual lemonade stand competition this Friday night, Sept. 6, at the Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium.
Entrepreneurship classes at Grand River Technical School will be holding the 5th annual lemonade stand competition this Friday night, Sept. 6, at the Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium. Each team has determined which lemon products to sell and what marketing strategies they would use. Profits from the stand operations will be used for the start-up capital for their upcoming business ventures.
Team Sour Power is led by Project Manager Rebeka Soasty. Sour Power stand will be selling lemonade, lemon cotton candy, lemon lollipops, lemon cookies and cupcakes and lemon/strawberry/banana smoothies. The first 50 customers at this stand receive a coupon for free merchandise at McDonalds and Taco Bell. They will also raffle off a Walgreens gift card.
Team Lemonade Crusade is being led by project manager Trent Moore. The Lemonade Crusade will be selling regular and strawberry lemonade, lemon snow cones and lemon candy. Customers will be able to enter a raffle for two Hy-Vee gift cards and a Washington Street Food and Drink gift certificate.
Local entrepreneurs and businesses sponsor the stands by donating supplies, financial aid and promotional items. Sponsors include Community Press, Hy-Vee, Woody’s Automotive Group, Francine’s Pastry Parlor, Washington Street, Cornerstone Church, Custom Feathers, Copeland Construction, Anderson Auto Salvage, Kevin McCullough Construction , El Nepal, Essential Kneads, State Farm, Royal Inn, Lindley Funeral Home, Applebee’s, Walgreen’s, Taco Bell and McDonalds.
The Chillicothe Hornets will be facing the Kirksville Tigers at 7 p.m. Come support the Hornets and Chillicothe’s newest entrepreneurs.
