  • Flexible Staffing was recently honored by George Lombardi, Director of the Missouri Department of Corrections for the work the Chillicothe-based staffing agency has done to help ex-criminals find new jobs after prison.
“They’ve made it their business to try and find people jobs,” Lombardi said during an award presentation Friday, Aug. 30. “Carol (Gregg) has been particularly gracious in working with our staff to do the best she can to help find locations for people that have been incarcerated or are on probation. She has developed relationships with businesses that are willing to do that.”
Lombardi said he established this award as way of publicly thanking businesses like Flexible Staffing for the work they do.
“I decided to develop a little thank you award for what these people have done to share what it means when they help an ex-felon find a job,” Lombardi explained. “This is about the fifteenth place I’ve come to in the past three years. I go to the business sites, thank the CEO and share our appreciation for taking chances on people who have committed crimes.”
Lombardi said a lack of jobs is the number one reason offenders return to a life of crime. He said the work Flexible Staffing has done in ten years of business is important in reducing crime in the state of Missouri.
“The bottom line is this: these people have to have jobs, otherwise things will go bad again,” Lombardi said. “That just can’t happen. Their work is directly related to public safety in our communities.”
