At the regular meeting of the Chillicothe City Council last night (Monday) a special presentation was made in honor of the late Joe Darr, assistant chief of the Chillicothe Fire Department.
Mayor Chuck Haney began the presentation, stating that Sept. 9, 2013, would be known as Assistant Chief Joe Darr Day. Following a brief introduction, a flag, medal and certificate were presented to Sara Darr, daughter of Joe Darr, by Mayor Chuck Haney and Fire Chief Darrell Wright.
A few of the council members spoke about Joe Darr, including Councilman Wayne Cunningham, who said that although he is gone from sight, "he will always be with us."
“Joe will be missed,” Cunningham said. “Someone will have to fill some pretty big boots.”
