At 7 p.m., Saturday, September 14, Billy McGuigan and his band take the stage at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe to present “Rock Legends”, the first show in the 2013-14 Chillicothe Area Arts Council season. Described by McGuigan as “part rock concert…part rock tribute…all rock n’ roll”, the show features the music of such rock greats as Elvis, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John, Tom Petty, The Who, U2, the British Invasion bands of the ‘60s and more, covering the decades of the ’50s through the ’80s.
“This is a new show, but this is the third time Billy McGuigan and his band have performed in Chillicothe,” Julie Ashbrook, administrator for the arts council, said. “He brings an amazing energy and talent to the stage. I think anyone who saw his Rave On tribute to the music of Buddy Holly or his Beatles Music Review will attest to the great music and dynamics a McGuigan show brings,” Ashbrook said.
In this show the audience is given the opportunity to vote, through the power of their applause, for the songs and music they want to hear. Rock Legends combines a wonderful performance of music with an outstanding multimedia show to create an evening of pure rock n’ roll, customized and created by the audience. The box office opens at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $7 for students. Season ticket holders will be admitted with their season ticket. Seating will begin at 6:30.
