  • The burn ban for Livingston County has been lifted as of this morning (Friday) and open burning is allowed. The ban went into effect for Livingston County and the City of Chillicothe on Tuesday, Sept. 3, due to extremely dry conditions. Last night, Chillicothe received 1.21 inches of rain, which is the most rain received for the area since early August. The total rainfall received in Chillicothe for the month of September is now 1.69 inches, which temporarily changes the drought index and dry conditions.
"We had significant rain fall," Fire Chief Darrell Wright said. "We wanted to give everybody a chance to burn their trash."
It is still advised for those to exercise caution while burning.
