Cornerstone Church is sponsoring a coat drive called “Coats 4 Kids.” There are 600 children in Livingston County who live below the poverty level.
The goal of the campaign is to collect 600 new or clean gently-used coats throughout the month of October to provide children 12 and younger with a coat for the winter. Coat collection boxes are placed at Piggy Wiggly, Hy-Vee, Wal-Mart, Clark’s Furniture and Harvey House, and coats can be donated through October. The coats will be distributed Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Cornerstone Event Center.
The child must be present in order to receive a coat. Monetary donations may also be made for the event. All money raised will go toward purchasing more coats.
Donations can be made at Cornerstone Church, online at www. cornerstonechurch.cc or by phone at 646-2231.
