The Missouri Princess Pageant will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Dickinson Performing Arts Center.
Girls ages 3-18 from across the state of Missouri will compete for a title and the chance to represent Missouri at the national Princess of America Pageant in Branson next summer. One winner in each of the six age divisions will be crowned: Tiny Miss (3 to 4 years), Little Miss (5 to 6 years), Jr. Miss (7-9 years); Pre-teen (10-12 years), Teen (13-15 years), Miss (16-18 years).
The overall talent winner will be selected the Missouri Princess Superstar and the winner of the People's choice vote will be crowned Missouri Princess Sweetheart. Both will also advance to the national pageant next summer.
The main categories of the pageant are interview, on-stage introduction, and formal wear. Contestants may also participate in the optional talent, photogenic and casual wear competitions.
Several local girls are the current reigning titleholders who will crown their successor. Sarah Hall, daughter of Amanda and Jeremy Hall, is the 2012 Little Miss Missouri Princess. Aliyah Briner, daughter of Bambi and Andrew Gannan, was crowned Jr. Miss Missouri Princess last year and also won the national title of Jr. Miss Princess of America at nationals. Madison Reed, daughter of Tonya and Joe Reed, of Breckenridge, was crowned Missouri Princess Sweetheart at the 2012 pageant and also won the title of national Princess of America Sweetheart. Emily Kasinger, daughter of Jeri and Kevin Kasinger, of Trenton, is the reigning Missouri Princess Superstar and will crown her successor this weekend. Other reigning titleholders include Pre-teen Missouri Princess Tiffany Brown and Teen Miss Missouri Princess Hayley York, both from Lee's Summit.
