The Chillicothe City Council will hold its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Lesley Patek, shelter guardian at the Forrest O. Triplett Memorial Animal Shelter will make an appearance to discuss potential heating/air unit repairs at the shelter. The unit broke down this year, and the moist environment does not provide for good heating and cooling, Patek said. She is looking to get estimates from the Council for a new unit.
City Administrator Ike Holland will discuss declaring certain items surplus for the city. At the last City Council meeting, Holland declared two generators, a Kawaski Mule, a Cushman Truckster, a 2007 Crown Victoria, a dump truck and an ex-ambulance as surplus items. Holland said that in order for items belonging to the city that are no longer used to be sold, they must be first declared as surplus.
Fire Chief Darrell Wright will hold a discussion regarding a new proposed organizational chart for the Fire Department. Wright said he is looking to change some of the top organizational positions, which would be newly appointed or newly hired. The proposed changes would not affect anyone currently holding a position in the department.
