  • Nearly 50 students will perform in the Chillicothe High School’s upcoming Fall Production, an evening of one-act plays.
Lisa Rule, drama teacher at CHS, says that the one-acts are all funny and all family-friendly.
“Our spring play last year was a very heavy drama with a  small cast, but this production is the total opposite,” Rule said. “The audience is going to be treated to a very funny evening.”
The first play of the evening, “10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse,” features some new actors to the stage as they portray different strategies to escape zombies.
The second play, “Check Please,” is about blind dates and how badly they can go and features some new and veteran thespians.
The third play, “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet,” features a large cast and is an imagined interpretation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as told by Dr. Seuss.
“All three plays are hilarious and we are having a lot of fun preparing these,” Rule said. “It’s a great learning opportunity for our new actors as well, because we are already looking ahead to our spring production, ‘Oklahoma.’”
The evening of one-acts will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings, Nov. 8-9, at 7 p.m. in the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 at the door for adults and $2 for school-age children.
