Chillicothe will again host its own version of the nationally known Black Friday promotion, “Black and Red Friday” on Friday, Nov. 22. This event is part of the “Local First: Think Local, Buy Local, Be Local” campaign sponsored by two community organizations, Main Street Chillicothe and the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce.
Lindy Chapman, executive director of the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce explained that, “Participating businesses will host special promotions and deals on Friday, will be listed in the advertising for the event, and will be identified by flyers posted at the front of the store.”
The goals of Black and Red Friday will help boost local sales, create local awareness of the benefits of spending locally, and positively impact the business community. Any member of either the Chamber or Main Street is encouraged to participate and reap the benefits of boosting the local economy and their own sales.
Micah Landes, executive director of Main Street Chillicothe stated, “Black and Red Friday is a great way to do some Christmas shopping and spend your money locally. Shopping local means quality items and personalized customer service.”
This holiday shopping event encourages shoppers to see what local stores have to offer before hitting the highway or cyber sales the following week. Participating businesses will be encouraged to offer special sales on hot ticket items, one-time discounts or other unique promotions for this community-wide event.
Chapman stated that businesses wanting to take advantage of the cooperative advertising for Black and Red Friday, should sign up by Nov. 15th. For more information email email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org or call 660-646-4050 or 660-646-4071
