NBC has ordered five more episodes of Sean Saves the World, Deadline.com reports.

That brings the freshman comedy's first season to 18 episodes, four shy of the usual network 22-episode order. Despite boasting Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes and a prime Thursday-at-9/8c timeslot, the sitcom has struggled in the ratings, averaging only 3.88 million viewers.

However, the most recent episode rose to a series-high viewership following a special Thursday installment of The Voice. On a night among mostly new comedies, Sean Saves the World will fall short of fellow Thursday laugher, The Michael J. Fox Show, which started with a 22-episode order, but will stretch far beyond Welcome to the Family, which lasted just three episodes.
