Richard Charles Schwab, 89, of Brookfield, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 9 at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Brookfield Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bob Wells, Pastor Lyle Knebel, Pastor Bob Price, and Pastor Lindsay Sullivan officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12 beginning at 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield.

Mr. Schwab was born on Nov. 24, 1923, in Audubon County, Iowa, the son of William and Anna Bartelt Schwab. He was married to Geraldine Betts on Nov. 14, 1945, in Grimes, Iowa. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Brookfield.
Mr. Schwab proudly held many positions in his lifetime. He was a farmer, milk plant supervisor in Brookfield and Chillicothe, meat plant processor, realtor, auctioneer, school bus driver, sales representative for many local feed companies and owned and operated the Dairy Sweet in Brookfield, Mo., before the business was destroyed by a tornado in 1975. He enjoyed raising his Hereford cattle and spending time outdoors year round. His jobs were many, but the pride of his life was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Gerry) of the home; one son Leslie (Connie) Schwab of Milan, Ill., and two daughters, Pamela (Dale) Gupton of Mexico, Mo, and Angela (Richard) Stinson of Brookfield; Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Lisa Schwab (Joey) Finnell, Michelle Schwab, Anthony Long, William Schwab, Richard Schwab, LeAnna Rhodes Lewis, Trudy Gupton (Charles) Gamblin, Amy Stinson (Scott) Carriker, and Mark (Lindsey) Stinson.
He was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren, Jasmine Schwab, Jesse Perkins, Emily Perkins, Lauren Finnell, Hannah Finnell, Maddi Finnell, Tyler Finnell, Shawn Fedderson, Rachel Long, Sarah Long, McKenzie Schwab, McKenna Schwab, Austin Schwab, Skylar Rhodes, Matthew Lewis, Roslyn Gamblin, Andrew Carriker, Jacob Carriker, Allison Carriker, Avery Carriker, Xavier Stinson, Isaac Stinson and Maddox Stinson and two great-great grandsons, Treighton Schwab and Remington Johnson. He is also survived by two sisters, Leila Grohe of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Lucille Guilfoyle of Las Vegas, Nev., and one sister-in-law, Mary Schwab of Phoenix, Ariz., along with several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Roy, Lester, Karl and one sister Lula.
