  • FFA event sets new record for chapter

  • Chillicothe FFA’s 2013 Barnwarming will go down in the history books as a record-setting event, with more than $30,000 raised to go toward FFA chapter operations.

  • Chillicothe FFA’s 2013 Barnwarming will go down in the history books as a record-setting event, with more than $30,000 raised to go toward FFA chapter operations.
    Barnwarming took place on Saturday with festivities that included a dance, games, a hay tunnel, and the coronation ceremony.
    This year’s 2013 Barnwarming King and Queen are Brandon Bothwell and Alicia Kieffer. The Senior Class, candidates – Alicia Kieffer (daughter of Robert and Michelle Kieffer) and Brandon Bothwell (son of Barrie and Julie Bothwell) raised $9,206.63 with an average of $255.74 per person. The Junior Class, candidates Bailey Henry (daughter of Melinda Henry) and Derek Eckert (son of Lee and Mindy Batye and Rick and Becky Eckert) raised $6,771.10 with an average of $218.42 per person. The Freshman Class, candidates Abbey Daly (daughter of Jason and Tonia Daly) and Gunnar Leach (son of Steve and Jenny Leach) raised $8,510.28 with an average of $125.15. The Sophomore Class, with candidates Rebecca Pitchford (daughter of Greg and Donna Pitchford) and Lane Bonderer (son of Chris and Janet Bonderer) raised $6,157.00 with an average of $101.00.
    The chapter raised $30,645.01 this year for the chapter’s operations that average out to $156.35 per member. This broke the previous record of $29,258.04 set in 2011. “We would like to thank all the members of the community for the long time support of our organization,” said FFA advisor Leda Schreiner.
