Marian Stilabower Allen, age 100, of Jefferson City, formerly of Laclede, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Adams Street Nursing Facility in Jefferson City.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at noon at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Richard Casady officiating. Burial will be in Laclede Cemetery in Laclede. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 9 a.m., and the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time.

Marian Elizabeth, daughter of Frederick and Sarah (Duckworth) Groes, was born July 29, 1913, in Laclede. In 1931, she married Frank Stilabower who preceded her in death in 1955. In November of 1962, she married Ralph H. Allen, who preceded her in death in May 2004.
Marian was a homemaker and had worked at Henderson Produce in Laclede and had also worked as a beautician in Kansas City. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Laclede, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Chapter R PEO also in Lacelede.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Pam Stilabower Lyon and husband, Arnold of Kansas City; a grandson, Craig Stilabower and wife, Jennifer of Jefferson City; a great-granddaughter, Carrington Stilabower of Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law, Augusta Stilabower of Jefferson City; a stepdaughter, Norma Shearer and a stepson, Norman Allen and wife, Joyce all of Chillicothe; five stepgrandchildren, Neil Shearer and wife, Tammy, David Shearer and wife, Christine, Dale Shearer and wife, Donna, Darrell Allen and wife, Christine, and Debbie Cameron and husband, Alvin; and one nephew, Gary Engberg and wife, Eva of Brookfield.
Her parents; one son, Frank Stilabower; one stepson-in-law, Darrell Shearer; one brother, Gene Groes; one sister, Lucille Engberg; and one nephew, Bill Groes also preceded her in death.
