The Livingston County Commission has met every day this week, working to construct the budget for the 2014 fiscal year. Ken Lauhoff, Commissioner East District, said one of the largest changes to this year’s budget is the funds allocated to Daviess-Dakalb Regional Jail. Lauhoff said the number of Livingston County inmates at DDRJ in 2013 was much higher than estimated. Two hearings will be held later this month for the public to review the new budget. The County Clerk hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 21, while the County Commission hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 31.
