The number of girls born at Hedrick Medical Center in 2013 continued to outpace the number of boys born in Chillicothe.
There were 87 boys born at HMC during 2013, and 102 girls, producing a total of 189 babies born at HMC. In 2012, there were 84 boys and 95 girls, for a total of 179 babies born at HMC. Last year, there were four sets of twins born. In 2012, there was one set of twins.
The most popular girl name in 2013 at Hedrick was Klhoe/Chloe, with three babies having that name; followed by Zoey (2), Autumn (2), Aubrey/Aubree (2), Isis (2) and Isabella/Izabella (2). The most popular boy names were, with just two each: Elijah, Isaiah, Jackson/Jaxon, and Gabriel.
The busiest month for the hospital’s obstetrics department was in December, when 24 babies were born. April had the fewest babies born, with 10 deliveries.
Doctors delivering babies were Dr. Clow, Dr. Peniston, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Porter.
