Floyd Junior Dunn, age 88, a resident of Hale, Mo., passed away at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Cameron, Mo., on Monday, April 14, 2014.
Floyd Junior Dunn, age 88, a resident of Hale, Mo., passed away at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Cameron, Mo., on Monday, April 14, 2014. He had previously lived in many western states but had retired to Hale in 1990.
Floyd Junior was born on November 8, 1925, in Hamilton, Mo., to Floyd L. and Cortie Blue Dunn. He had served our country in the Army during WWII and had earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Floyd had worked for the government as a construction inspector, and previously when he had lived in Hamilton, he had been the city water superintendent.
He was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, the Hamilton American Lefion Post #285, and a member of the Hale Lion's Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Loraine Heer and Jean Heer; and a son, Randy Dunn.
On July 25, 1948 he married Zona (Skip) Kavanaugh in Hamilton. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors: daughter, Charlotte (Lee) Miller, Hale; Son, Ron Dun (companion, Sheila), Hale; Son, Rick (Leslie) Dunn, Phoenix, Ariz.; and daughter, Rebecca (Nick) Gann, Lebanon, Mo.; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-Wilma Corbin, Chillicothe, Mo., and Elaine Romeiser, Utica, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service and burial will be held at 11 a.m., Firday, April 18, at the Missouri Vetern's Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo., cemetery chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missouri Veteran's Home, Cameron.
