  • Shelley Staton sorts through plants for sale at the Litton Agriculture Education Center greenhouse on Wednesday. The spring plant sale includes plants that students started from seeds, using plugs and utilizing cuttings. During the semester students learn how a greenhouse works and how good nutrition and access to water affects plants. Among plants for sale are ageratum, salvia, spikes, begonias, geraniums, petunias, coleus, tomatoes, peppers, impatiens and Wandering Jew baskets. The sale began Tuesday and concludes today (Thursday), with hours being 2:30 to 5 p.m. Around $1,000 in plants had been sold as of Wednesday.
