  • Artwork — with images ranging from wildlife and minions to beach scenery and underwater life — dotted the sidewalks in downtown Chillicothe on Saturday. The artistic creations were part of the Downtown Merchants’ Chalk Walk. There were 25 artists participating and 31 downtown businesses. “There were a lot of people roaming around downtown and I think that was the whole goal — to get people downtown,” said Donna Schweikert, owner of the Yogurt Stop, 705 Locust Street, who coordinated the event. Winners were: Lanie Epperson (ages 8 to 11 years); Zakari Glasgow (ages 12 to 14 years); Zachary Hacker (ages 15 to 18 years); Melissa Williams (19 years of age and older; Melissa Williams (professional). Winners received $25 in Chillicothe cash.
