Funds will be used to install LED lighting in recycling, subcontracting facility The Livingston County Community Foundation has announced a grant award in the amount of $10,000 to Hope Haven Industries, Inc., to install LED lighting in their recycling and subcontracting services area. The old lighting was installed around 1967 and all of the fixtures in subcontracting need replaced with LED to provide the employees with property lighting to reduce eye strain. LED will be more cost effective to operate and give off much more light. Some of the fixtures in recycling have been updated to LED, but more are needed over specific work stations to allow the employees to have a safer work area. The total number of replacement lamps is 216. The Livingston County Community Foundation was organized in 1998 as a recommendation of the Long Range Planning Committee of the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce to set up a permanent endowment to grant funds to other Livingston County non-profit (501c3) organizations to fulfill their objectives. The major areas of interest are economic development, community and rural redevelopment, education, community health and welfare, youth and the arts and humanities. Since its organization, the foundation has made more than 80 grants totaling more than $500,000, all benefitting non-profits in Livingston County.
