A Chillicothe woman was seriously hurt when in a one vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon on route K, 0.4 miles east of Chula. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at 3:39 p.m. when Jeanna M. Chaney, 60, of Chillicothe, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus east on Route K in Chula. The vehicle crossed the center line and traveled off the north side of the roadway, traveling through a ditch and striking a private drive. The vehicle became airborne, returned to the ground and overturned two times. The vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side, facing west, off the north side of Route K. The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Chillicothe and Chula fire departments. Chaney was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, the report stated. She was transported by LifeFlight Eagle to Truman Medical Center. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
