TRENTON, MO. – Family members, friends and supporters will gather for a deployment ceremony for the Missouri National Guard’s 548th Transportation Company, based in Trenton at Ketchum Community Center, located on the campus of North Central Missouri College at 1322 Mable Street, Trenton on Saturday, March 11.

TRENTON, MO. – Family members, friends and supporters will gather for a deployment ceremony for the Missouri National Guard’s 548th Transportation Company, based in Trenton at Ketchum Community Center, located on the campus of North Central Missouri College at 1322 Mable Street, Trenton on Saturday, March 11. After the ceremony, which begins at 1:30 p.m., the unit is leaving for the final segment of training before departing for a year-long deployment overseas. The unit is led by Capt. Tyler S. Perkins and 1st Sgt. Shannon W. Andrews. The company will provide ground transportation for the movement of dry and refrigerated containerized cargo, and other breakbulk cargo, ammunition, and bottled water on PLS flat-racks and convoy security to protect military assets and civilian trucks hauling military goods. The 548th Transportation Company deployed May 20, 2011 to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The company completed 180 logistical support missions covering 316,990 miles and delivered 7,953 tons of supplies across Regional Command West and Southwest supporting six Forward Operating Bases and three Village Stability Operations. The unit returned April 6, 2012.
