Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery’s June exhibit, Hands Across Missouri, will close with a special reception from 5 until 8 p.m. this Friday, July 7. Exhibiting artists will be in attendance and members of the public as well as art guild members are encouraged to attend this free event. There are 51 items on display from 19 artists throughout the Midwest region. Hands Across Missouri was developed by the Missouri Artisans Association, doing business as The Best of Missouri Hands, and the Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery to provide a forum to demonstrate the creativity and diversity of the artists and artisans of Missouri and the Midwest region. The works selected the exhibition exemplify Missouri’s traditions and handmade arts and crafts through the creativity and artistry of the artists whose work is part of the exhibit, according to Margaret Vance, a member of the art guild’s board of directors. The exhibit includes a variety of media, including wood, canvas, photography, drawing, ceramics, weaving, sculpture and more. The gallery is open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The special closing reception will be from 5 until 8 p.m. this Friday.
