Chillicothe City Council voted unanimously to accept recommendations for hiring of a new 911 dispatcher and a new paramedic/firefighter.

Chillicothe City Council voted unanimously to accept recommendations for hiring of a new 911 dispatcher and a new paramedic/firefighter. The action came in an executive session following the regular council meeting. Shawn Gott, currently an employee with the Trenton Fire Department and ambulance service was employed to replace the vacancy from Donnie Rogers retiring. Chief Darrell Wright said that Gott is fully trained as a Paramedic and Firefighter and will begin work Sept. 5, 2017. Audrey Jones of Chillicothe was recommended for employment as a dispatcher for 911 and the police department by Manager Cindy Hanavan. She has experience as a dispatcher and was a finalist from 30 applicants for the position, according to Hanavan. She will begin work in two weeks.
