Carolyn Jo (Ross) Maberry, age 80, a resident of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by her beloved family.

Carolyn was born the daughter of John and Christine (Baker) Ross on December 30, 1936, in Tina, Missouri. After the death of her mother in 1941, she made her home with O.F. and Alta (O’Dell) Baker. She attended the Tina School and belonged to the Tina Christian Church. She was united in marriage to Thomas D. Maberry on December 8, 1957. He survives of the home. Carolyn enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling, and family history – tracing some lines of the family back 8 and 9 generations. Her greatest joy came from being a true homemaker to her family. She especially enjoyed her grandson, Cole, and was a proud supporter of the Band Booster Club for the Harrisonville Band Program. She never missed a concert where Cole played his tuba and bass trombone.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of 59 years; daughters, Christy Maberry of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Tammy (Maberry) Shinn of Harrisonville, Missouri; one grandson, Cole Shinn of Harrisonville, Missouri; and two close and special cousins, Don and Carol Daily of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Greg and Debbie Smith of Smithville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; one sister, Judy Kay; and stepmother, Hattie Ross.
