The framework of a 20,000 square-foot warehouse for Farmers’ Electric Cooperative has been erected and work continues for roughing in the electric and mechanical needs. The new building is being constructed just north of the FEC business office. When completed, the structure will provide parking of all FEC vehicles under one roof (with six pull-through bays for safety and efficiency) and space for storing materials. The building will also provide safety for the loading of large transformers as well as give lineman the ability to respond quicker due to efficiencies gained with the warehouse layout. The building measures 250 feet by 80 feet. Case Contracting, of Chillicothe, is the general contractor on the project. The new building replaces two smaller buildings that were built in 1957 and 1974.
