MILAN – The North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission (Commission) has announced the launch of a new web site at www.elcr.info. Last week the Commission announced the completion of land acquisition with the final purchase of 81 parcels comprising 4,550 acres to accommodate the 2,352 acre water supply reservoir. The East Locust Creek Reservoir will provide water to a 10-county area and is the largest project overseen by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in the United States. The new web site was designed to provide a repository of documents, maps, videos, displays, reports and studies pertaining to the East Locust Creek Reservoir. The NRCS project will provide water supply, recreational opportunities and flood control in North Central Missouri and will be owned by the Commission. “We are building a public resource that will fundamentally change the economy of north central Missouri and create jobs and economic opportunity for generations to come,” said Commission Chairman Rick Gardner. “The Commission felt it was important for the public to have access to the documents and displays that have been developed in the pursuit of this critical water supply.”
