Ronna Leigh Cooper, age 48, of St. Charles, previously of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles.

Ronna Leigh Cooper, age 48, of St. Charles, previously of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles. A funeral service will be Monday, September 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Leon Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 24, from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at the funeral home. Ronna Leigh, daughter of Ronald and Darlene (McDowell) Cooper, was born June 27, 1969 in Berkeley. Ronna graduated from Meadville RIV High School in 1986. After graduation she lived in St. Louis before moving to Chillicothe. She was a member of Willot Road Baptist Church in Ferguson. She loved to sing and would volunteer at nursing homes, which led to her love and compassion for the elderly. Survivors include her mother, Darlene Cooper Schmutz of O’Fallen; one sister, Jackie Moore and husband, David of Linn Creek; one niece, Faith Moore of Linn Creek; four step-brothers, Mark Schmutz and wife, Bea, Tim Schmutz and wife, Debbie, Todd Schmutz, and Matt Schmutz and wife, Abby all of St. Peters; grandparents, Glenn and Martha Johnson of Brookfield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her father, Ronald Cooper who died in 1985; and her stepfather, Glennon Schmutz who died in 2015 preceded her in death.
